Feb. 8 – An enormous oak came down out by the road.  We pounced on it.  The white barn roof is in the background. What you see here is just one branch.  The rest is about halfway down the slope. Notice the damage to the neighboring trees.

Lady bug beetles at work and play (center left) in the greenhouse – March 20 (or thereabouts).  I purchased the ladies to control an infestation of white flies which were decimating my tomatoes.  They were not up to the job.  Turns out the ants like the white fly larva.  They milk them just like they do aphids.  They protect the larva by killing the ladies.  So I got some nematodes which took care of the white flies but I have not seen an earthworm since.  Hard to mess with Ma Nature.  Or, rather, easy to mess, but hard to know what the consequences will be.

Time for a wee secret – These photos have been resting on my computer since they were taken in 2018.  I’m just getting to upload them in Dec. 2022.  So there is sometimes a question in my mind as to why I took the photo in the first place.  Add to that the photo dates are not correct as I have often been too lazy to adjust the date on the camera when the batteries run out.  Very unprofessional.
